An Unfamiliar Place, Seuldo

'Seuldo' may be an unfamiliar name for most people, but it's just a name of an island. Gained its name by legends that the Geomungo strings are heard, this island is located by Ulsan city's Donggu.

It's a quite suitable weather to go out now, so why not try Seuldo where you can witness the clearest and bluest skies of the East Sea.

Similar to Yeosu's Ohdongdo, Seuldo is an island you can cross without taking a boat.

The boats floating, tied to the docks somewhat comforts you like a visual ASMR. Just like Epicurus saying, 'The fortunate is not the young man but the old man who lived well. While the young man hinders upon his emotions and beliefs, the old man enjoys happiness like a boat at its dock' the boats may not be shipping out there, but sure make one feel comfortable by floating gently at its dock.

There's a photo spot on the way to Seuldo from walking along the breakwaters. It's the best photogenic site of the island where you can capture the lonely lighthouse. If you walk closer to the lighthouse, you'll be able to listen to the beautiful tunes of Geomungo and Haegum. The music blends in with the waves crashing and the wind whistling, a true nature's harmony.

The red lighthouse far away faces the white lighthouse and is also a favorite spot to fishers. The two lighthouses weren't built for a good view. The red lighthouse guides the left side of the boats, and the white lighthouse guides the right side of the boats, so nobody gets lost.

It's common to notice village people hunting something under water by the breakwaters. This island is a favorite spot for not only fishers but also people around the neighborhood thanks to its bountiful supply of underwater plants and animals.

Next to Seuldo is a small village with colorful walls. The walking-guide map at the village's entrance recommends the best track to stroll. How about enjoying a time of freedom at this place with a map in your hand?!
