Have you ever walked around a weeping cherry tree that is hanging over almost as if it would touch the ground? The richer aroma of cherry blossoms will enlighten your heart as well as the pink petals. Go to Likugien for such experience, where gorgeous weeping cherry trees are awaiting. It’s beautiful in the day but the lights at night create another mood. It’s also famous for its fall leaves in autumn

Ya-es Cherry Blossom Street

If you’re wondering what Tokyo’s city cherry blossoms would be like, try Ya-es’ cherry blossom street. It’s very close to Tokyo station so it’s a hassle-free stop to check out in a short time if you’re around the airport. Not only is it filled with tourists but also with people who just got out of work. If you’re getting hungry after the walk, try out Tokyo’s Ramen Street where the most delicious Ramens are being served.

Kemasakuranomiya Park

Osaka’s castle is a hotspot for cherry blossoms too, but Kemasakuranomiya Park is also one of the most beloved hotspot for cherry blossoms. Troll along the stream of Okawa, where cherry trees are lined up 4.2km long. It’s also close to Osaka’s first Western architecture, Senpukan, the Osaka Mint Bureau, and the Fujita Art Museum, guaranteeing more to sight see.

The Osaka Mint Bureau

There is a total of 350 cherry trees of 134 different breeds planted at the Osaka Mint Bureau. What a collection of different cherry trees! The blooming season for the trees differs from breeds so a colorful vibe is created every time you visit. How about checking out the various shapes and colors of cherry blossoms? It’s also special in its way of opening to the public only once a year for a week when it’s blooming season. The Mint Bureau picked “Woocon” as this year’s cherry blossom, a cherry tree with a slight yellow shade so let’s go to see it for real.

Yoshino Mountain

How’s a cherry blossom hike instead of a walk? You’ll be able to experience the priceless view of more than thirty-thousand cherry trees covering Yoshino Mountain. To be precise, it’s a mountain in Nara Hyun which is an hour and a half train ride from Osaka but the breathtaking view will be worth it. Plus, they run an express train during the cherry blossom season. Cherry blossoms on Yoshino Mountain bloom up from the start of April to the end of the month, which is why you should visit if you missed out Osaka. If you’re afraid of hiking don’t worry, there are cable cars and buses as well.
