[Soyeon.Park]

Welcome these four lively girls who are just starting their debut in the K-POP scene, 'Hey Girls'

Jandi, Siyeon, Heesu, and Daun are the four members of the group and made their debut last month in November.

Here's the interview with the girls.

11.HOW DID EACH OF YOU START MUSIC? WHEN WAS THE LOW POINT IN PURSUING MUSIC?

Heesu: I was really into dance since middle and high school years. I never thought of singing. I always loved dance so I always took stages at talent shows and also majored dance in college. I worked as a dancer for a while and then started getting into singing as I joined the group, Hey Girls. I never had interest but now I'm really into singing and been practicing a lot. I even asked for lessons many times. Since it is a job that requires being on stage being on a diet and caring my looks was the hardest.

Jandi: I always wanted to be a singer since I was young. I went on singing competitions but back then I had stage fright, especially in singing. That's how I lost confidence but then never had stage fright when dancing so I've been dancing for a long time too. I still had the heart to be a singer and when the chance came I worked on the album. Same for me, being on a diet was the hardest. Black Queen used to perform overseas many times, but in Korea, there seems to be a fine line between being a singer who's on TV and who's not. That kind of view is also discouraging.

Siyeon: Although I am the rapper of the group, I'm the type to be on TV programs such as 'Unpretty Rapstar'. My voice was a unique tone to the group and that's why I got into being the rapper. I learned to dance as a teenager and ended up majoring contemporary dance in college. Being a dancer on stage, I hated how I was never the center of the attention. I felt that I just like the attention, not dancing itself. Low point I would say going through a filing against my former agency. I've lost two years because of that.

Daun: Unlike the other members, I've majored contemporary music in vocals. I'm still in college but now in gap year because it was hectic to maintain my schedule with this. They are definitely better at dancing than I. I only concentrated on singing so I need to practice three, four times more.

12. HOW'S YOUR TYPICAL DAY?

Jandi: We first gather at our studio and talk. Mainly chatting. We practice vocals and dance separately. Since we have a new song we practice live a lot and then have lunch.

13. ANY PERSONAL TALENTS?

Heesu: I can do an AVATAR impersonation and the subway announcement in all three languages.

Jandi: Arm wrestling. I'm still working out and Jjangu, and choir impersonations.

Siyeon: Since my voice is really unique I can do many impersonations. Pikachu, Bono bono, and other animal sounds.

Daun: I can make the wiper sounds. On windows and on window panes.

14. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF WHEN WATCHING AUDITION SHOWS?

Jandi: There are a lot of people who chase the same dream as mine. Can I survive?

Heesu: I self-reflect a lot.

Jandi: There's no exact standard of singing or dancing well, and that's art. So watching audition programs really get me thinking about many things.

15. WHAT'S THE FAMILY SUPPORT LIKE?

Heesu: My parents probably didn't know I would be doing this for so long. Since I've been doing it for long now everybody admits and reckons it. My dad's a quiet person.

Jandi: My parents also never were against me doing it but never cared. Now I think they've started to appreciate it.

Siyeon: Both of my parents supported me since I loved dancing and singing at a young age. They still ask when the album is going to come out, and write comments for me.

Daun: They first thought it was a hobby for me but strongly opposed when I got serious. Now after receiving awards, they started to be gentle and now they introduce my music to the guests who come visit their pension. My parents are running a pension for a living.

16. TELL US ABOUT UPCOMING EVENTS.

Jandi: We'll be on TV soon and around live stages as well. We have a YouTube channel and other social network channels so check them out. We're also doing an online broadcast via afreecaTV. It's been about a year and we do it on weekdays 7:10 PM as 'Hey Girls TV'.

17. ANY LAST WORDS?

Heesu: It was my first interview so I was nervous but thanks to the warm host I enjoyed it and freely chatted. Hope you love our music!

Jandi: I was also a bit nervous being it my first interview but it went by very comfortably. We'll be working hard at any place we can go so keep rooting for us. Hope to be at awards to next year.

Siyeon: It was fun. 'No One But You' is a great song from our first album. We want to be a girl group that's always positive. Hope you all support us.

Daun: We'll be around everywhere soon, so hope you all will enjoy!

Hey Girls is now actively performing 'No One But You'.
