Since Bucheon's International Fantastic Film Festival, this Zhou Dongyu and Sandra Ma's film was originally titled as 'Li Ansheng and Lin Qiyue'. 'Soulmate' seems to cut off short to explain the complicated relationship between these two women who had to say their goodbyes and hellos constantly over the years of life since the age of 13. The life of the two gradually grows on to the audience in reflecting our own life. 

Some of the plots were clearly predictable in creating the emotional timeline bringing tears to the crowd but considering them as one of those once-in-a-lifetime moment, the scenes may come cheesy but deeply relatable. Just like Li Ansheng and Lin Qiyue, we sometimes also aren't completely honest with our friends and remember only what we want to hear or believe in. 

Zhou Dongyu and Sandra Ma's act of fully being immersed as Lin Ansheng and Lin Qiyue is also notable. Emotions and characters of the film were exactly fitted for both actresses, bringing out the most natural side of the two. If you've been an avid Zhou fan, keep your hopes high for this one as well.
