The Closest Beach Travel from Seoul
Despite the fact that summer is fading off quickly, bet there are still people out there who couldn't go out for vacation. If by any chance there is a last-minute summer-getaway to the beach, no reason to refuse that. Here we are introducing Ansan's City Tour, the closest sea trip from Seoul with a range of tour packages.
The City Tour can be reserved online or by phone. The bus will pick you up at Ansan's Jungang station's public parking lot at 10 AM sharp so try to be there early. If you want to start the tour from Seoul, you'll get on a second-floor bus. Be at exit number 6 of Gwanghwamun station on 9:30 AM or at Sindorim Post Office, across of exit 1 of Sindorim station 10 AM sharp. The Ansan buses run from Tuesdays through Saturdays, and the Seoul buses from Mondays through Sundays. The tickets are 6000 won for adults and 4000 won for minors, seniors, soldiers, etc. If you're taking the bus from Seoul the tickets are 19800 won per person. This only covers the bus ride.
There are four courses in total. The first, 'Inner City Special' course is about exploring the cultures and arts of Ansan. Starting at Jungang station the bus drives to the Choi Yongshin Memorial, Sungho Memorial, Danwon Art Gallery, and Ansan's Silvergrass Park. The second course departing from Ansan is the 'DaebuHaesolgil' course that starts from Jungang station and travels along the Moon Observatory Tower, the first DaebuHaesolgil course, and the beach walks at Tando. The tour that starts from Seoul on the second-floor bus is the same with the 'DaebuHaesolgil' course but the start and the finishing line is different. The bus returns back to Gwanghwamun or Sindorim, where it started. The last, 'Pick-and-choose' course is a free pass tour around the inner city and Daebudo area. It's for tourists more than 20 people as a team.

The 2nd course, the 'DaebuHaesolgil' and Seoul's second-floor bus tour is the one to fully dive in for the ocean experience. Here are parts of what the course is like.
Sihwa Lake Tidal Power Station (Moon Observatory)
It takes about an hour from Ansan to the Sihwa Power Station. On weekends you have to consider the relatively heavy traffic to weekdays. On your way, the tour guide will share interesting stories about the area so don't worry about getting bored during the ride.
The bluest seas will melt your heart to forget about summer.
The Shiwa Lake Tidal Power Station is one of the world's largest facilities that can produce electrical power enough for 500,000 people a year. Unlike any power station, this place has a very nice park area. It's called the T-Light park where you can sit and relax on benches and tables and enjoy the oceanic view.
Right next to the building is the Sihwa Culture Gallery. At the 1st floor is the information desk and a circle cinema where you can watch fantasy videos, and on the second floor, there is a children's energy room, a history of Sihwa room and so much more educational centers. It's a perfect place if you want to spend time with children with actual observing activities.
DaebuHaesolgil Course 1
This is the full view of the starting point of DaebuHaesolgil Course 1. It's a popular site for lovers on a date, and for photographers. It's more beautiful in the fall when silvergrass covers up the whole road up to the windmills.
The vanes and windmills create an illusion of the Netherlands. Thanks to its windy weather the paper vanes keep swirling and swirling.
Look at the small pond with small boats floating!
Tando Beach Walk
The Tando beach walks are where the sea opens, a 1.2km long path that connects Daebudo's Tando and Nu-eh Island. Twice a day the path opens like the miracle of Moses due to tide differences, and it's also an amazing site to see the sun sets.
At the mud flat next to the Tando beach walks you can change up and try the muddy field yourself by renting boots, small shovels, and buckets for an unforgettable experience.
On your way to Nu-eh island, you can glide across watching a huge windmill. It's romantic to watch from afar, but it's quite intimidating once you get close enough to hear the machine roll. Don't forget to check the time in advance to prevent yourself getting left behind on the island after the tides rush back in.
As well-known as it is, at the West sea's mudflats you can often eye many people digging up some seafood delicacies.
The Ansan fishing village nearby Tando port is another experience you can try if the time allows. But if you're good with watching the open seas right in front of you, just enjoy as much of Tando's beach.
Now after the day long tour it's time to go back home. It might be a bit pressuring because the tour follows a certain schedule, but the biggest merit of this tour is that you don't need to hassle around, but enjoy the prepared courses in order.
If you want to take a look around Ansan's finest, taking the Ansan City Tour bus is a must.
