Jumbong Mountain's Gombaeryeong is a deep Valley inside of Injae and Yangyang of Gangwondo, facing Seolack Mountain. 

The name 'Gombaeryeong' came from how the valley looks like a bear lying up towards the sky. Also called as the 'Eden Garden on Earth', this valley holds thousands of plants and wild flowers 1400m up high. The best time to visit is from July until fall when monsoon season is over.

However, experiencing this hidden forest that's also a cultural heritage approved by UNESCO is not so easy. Just to mention the crucial processes, reserving the trekking is only possible on every Wednesdays from 9 AM until the fourth week of Sunday, and only up to one more person can join other than who's signing up. An ID card, arriving by noon is required and by 2 PM you need to come down starting at the top of Gombaeryeong. Specifics and reservations can be made at the main homepage. 

Spring in Gombaeryeong arrives pretty late because of the heavy snow in winter. It's still piled with snow in March, and flowers don't bloom until May. 

Gombaeryeong's course is about four hours long, 10.5km total of length. During the track, there are no bathrooms so don't forget to excuse yourself before the adventure. The course opens with the clearest streams on your left. Even in the summer, the shades cover up the valleys, enabling a cool walk up. 

Making way through the water mist from the lake is nature's own beauty spraying mist. Birds chirping, water dripping, are all that surrounds those who are trekking, an outlet from living trapped inside the concrete jungles. 

Evergreen trees cover up the sky and the humidity under the forest allow plants such as pteridophytes to grow and the sound of crystal clear water overflowing energizes every pump of blood from the heart. It's giving life again and again. 

The slope upward isn't so steep so it'll be an easy trekking course for younger children as well. Strolling the streets under the cool shades will be a perfect environment for kids to enjoy nature as well.
