Anyangsan's recreation forest is located at JeollaNamdo's Hwasun-Gun, E-seomyun, Ahnshim-Li. Opened in 1997, this place is a forest of woodwort trees, cedar trees and more. 
Ways to enjoy this woodwort forest are plenty. You can bath yourself walking between the crowded woodworts, take a long relaxing sleep breathing in the clear air if you decide to stay over night. Splashing some water at the water-playground or spending time at many education centers or other recreational centers will guarantee a fun time. 

Way before when the forest was created, even before Korea was modernized this place was the main traffic area that connected Goksung, Hwasun, and Gwangju. This place still has traces of old walls and trenches here and there. Metal pieces are still dug up from where there used to be a smith. A lot of the footprints from the old days are faded, but it's now an amazing forest. 

Since it's a privately owned forest, there is an entrance fee. Adults are 2,000 won while children are 1,000 won. You won't need to pay for parking if you are staying over night, but if it's just a visit, it's 2,000 won for small/medium cars and 5,000 won for large-sized cars. 

It's a well-known fact that cedar and woodwort trees emit phytoncide, but did you know that more amounts are diffused in the summer? Take a trip this summer to Gwangju or Hwasun to intake as much phytoncide, great for high blood pressure, diabetes, and depression.
