Incheon's Ongjin-Gun is a heaven of islands from well-known islands like Yeonpyoungdo, BaekryeongDo and so much more that outnumbers 100. It's a great surrounding where the water runs shallow, perfect to experience the mud-sands and beaches. Only a two-hour drive from Incheon port to Daebudo, it's a place where endless lines of visitors keep coming. 

Out of all the islands, SeungBong Do got its name because of its shape that resembles a flying Phoenix. You can enter Seungbong Do by boarding a ship at the Yunahn deck or at the Daebudo deck. After an hour and 20 minutes from Daebudo, you'll arrive at SeungBong Do's port. A little over 200 people live on the island like a big family. 

At SeungBong Do you can plan sea-fishing and rock-crabs catching, and also enjoy a beautiful view of sunsets. If you want to stay over the weekend, it'd be best to book accommodations in advance. The island is packed on the weekends with many visitors. 

SeungBong Do outlines 4km in total, a 15-minute drive by car and a two hour long walk to observe the whole island. Unlike other islands, the mountains of SeunBong Do are pretty low, so many farms are built around most of the island. 

The seashore-walk with the view of the island's beautiful sceneries is a great easy stroll. A perfect step that leads to truly experiencing the beauty of SeungBong Do and its serene island atmosphere. 

The Ilre Beach is a wonderful white sanded shore, unique in the fact having no mud-sands after out waves. The burning red sunset is also a famous spot, while the soft white sand glitters from sunlights. A very rare spot in Korea with such view. 

Other than the Ilre Beach, at SeungBongDo there are evergreen forest walks, Namdaemoon Rocks, and more hills, rock cliffs that create the grand scenes of the ocean view. 

The mund-sand field is at the opposite side fromIlre beach, a five-minute drive away. Starting 2003 of December, SeungBong Do has been appointed as a nature-protective area, so digging clams were illegal. But now since 2006 of June, it's allowed to dig up to one kilo bag of clams per person. Other than clams you can also dig up some seaweed too!

With plenty to do, SeungBong Do is a place to fit your taste so plan well ahead. It's said that the island is half full of fish, which explains it's boundless netting, rope-fishing and more fun activities available.
