"I Can Save Today, You Can Save the World"

[MHN]76 years after debuting in All Star Comics #8 by William Moulton Marston in 1941, 'Wonderwoman'(Patty Jenkins, Director) hit the theaters. While superheros were portrayed mainly in either muscular male or men of wealth, 'Wonder Woman' became the obvious remedy in superhero comics history.

Diana Prince, Princess of Themyscira (Gal Gadot) was molded from clay by Amazonian Queen, Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) and brought to life by the Greek God Zeus. Born on the mythical and mystical island of Themyscira, she always wants to become a strong warrior like her mother and aunt. However, her mother tries to keep Diana away from training by telling a story about the jealous and vengeful God of War, Ares. She gets trained secretly by her aunt, General Antiope (Robin Wright). Antiope and Diana convincing Hippolyta that Diana needs to be able to protect herself and be ready for the outside world, Hippolyta allows Diana to get trained officially, but she says it should be 5 times harder, 10 times harder until being better than even Antiope. One day, a plane crashes on the island and Diana rescues an Air Force officer, Steve Trevor (Chris Pine). She finds out the existence of the human world and battles of World War Ⅰ.

With the bracelets and shield which can even deflect bullets, lasso of truth and God-Killer sword, she heads for the human world with Steve to save the world. Leaving the paradise island, she believes if she dives into battle and kills the source of so much evil, Ares, the humans would become good-hearted again. Seeing people hurt each other, Diana can't get over it and feels disappointed. Meanwhile, German general, Erich Ludendorff (Erich Ludendorff) and Doctor Poison, Isabel Maru (Elena Anaya) try to create a chemical weapon that could penetrate gas masks and win the war.

With the background of an uncharted island, Themyscira and the year 1918 when World War Ⅰ is the peak in Euroup, it makes the film seem realistic. The film is quite dark and depressing, but Wonder woman tries to look for hope, love, and peace to keep them. Getting to know the human being and realizing it makes her grow inside and become a real hero. She jumps in the middle of the battlefield bravely, blocking the bullets. The fascinating actions are not only superhuman, but also elegant.

For the past few years, previous DC Films like 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2015, Zack Snyder)' and 'Suicide Squad (2016, David Ayer)' earned a divisive reputation with both fans and critics. For that reason, fans weren't expecting much from DC's latest film 'Wonder Woman'. Moreover, Lebanon called for ban of Wonder Woman film for Gal Gadot, the main actress, having been an Israeli actress and model and expressed support for Israel's military policies against the Gaza Strip. Yet, the movie has been given overwhelming favorable comments, earned a 97 percent fresh rating on movie review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, and had the highest ticket sales even before released. With this, it is even raising expectations of All Star DC Comics, 'Justice League' upcoming in November.
