[Munhwanews MHN Editor Crystal Lee] The earthian boy, Gardner Elliott(Asa Butterfield), was born and has been raised by scientists in East Texas, on Mars where there is no gravity. The number of people he met in person is only 15. He usually spends his time on iChatting talking with a teenage girl living on Earth named Tulsa(Britt Robertson). The distance between Mars and Earth varies between 40 and 225 million miles though, his curiosity about Earth and Tulsa makes him want to leave for Earth. Finally arriving in Earth, rain, wind, horse, and little bugs are all so new for him and he gets to experience colorful and different things. However, his heart is unable to stand Earth's atmospheric pressure.

Not knowing how to flirt, Gardner just bursts out his feelings for Tulsa saying "You are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen". "How did you become more beautiful in 20 seconds?" Tulsa not understanding him saying things directly, she tells him how people usually hides their feelings and emotions, but she falls into him more and more by him being honest. The film 'The Space Between Us' was released on the 16th and includes some interesting expressions among their teen romance.

1. "See you in the funny papers."

From 1940s to 1960s, comic strips on newspapers used to say 'see you on funny papers' since the daily comics pages were known as 'the funny pages'. 'Funny papers, pages, or sheets' were used for 'comics'

2. "I believe they call it euphoria."

By the first trip to earth, Gardner experiences intense feelings of pleasure. Gardner's motivation to travel to Earth as a human Martian has come true and it is just so marvelous for him like seeing the sea and blue sky or feeling rain for the first time.

3. "What's your favorite thing about earth?"

For a blind homeless man, it is 'dreaming' and for Tulsa and Gardner, it's each other. We don't really get to think about what's our likes on Earth although we live on it. 'What is our favorite thing about earth?' This movie makes us realize how precious to live on it.

4. 'space' in 'The Space Between Us'

The meanings of 'space' in dictionary are 'room', 'distance', or 'the region of the universe beyond Earth's atmosphere' The innocent love in 'The Space Between Us' makes us want to have euphoriac by meeting the favorite person on funny days.
