The Ancient Mutant, Apocalypse, Awakened

[Munhwanews English] 'X-Men: Days of Future Past, 2014' changed everything that we had seen in every 'X-Men' movies. Then the ending credits scene made it interesting to show a brief tease at the next film that 'Apocalypse', the most powerful mutant would appear. 'How will X-Men fight against Apocalypse?' thought X-Men fans.

'X-Men: Apocalypse', released on 25th leads the new timelines after the brilliant harmony of prequel and sequel.

Apocalypse was a mutant of ancient Egypt BC 3600 years.

He has superhuman power, stamina and total control over the molecules of his body, enabling him to alter his form.

He also can absorb other mutants power and body to make himself immortal. In addition to healing factor, speed faster than Quick Silver, telepathy, telekinesis, technopathy, teleportation as well as ability to operate, absorb and release the power for other mutants to get maximized power.

After Apocalypse was left to slumber for thousands years by the people who tried to expel the fake god, his followers awake him in 1980s.

Apocalypse, worshiped as a god, revives and feels furious about the corrupted civilization, so he finds 4 powerful mutants to make four horsemen. The four horseman, Magneto, Storm, Psylocke and Angel, help him to destroy humanity and start a new era.

Professor Xavier, Mystique, and young X-Men start to mobilize.

Young Jin Grey, Cyclops, Storm, and Nightcrawler were acted well as immatured teen mutants like suffering an identity crisis, trying to hide feelings and learning to control their powers.

'X-Men: Apocalypse' is a bigger scale X-Men film by the scene collapsing Sydney Opera House, lifting Golden Gate Bridge, and setting off all the nuclear weapons. It made me have goosebumps by imagining the end of the world.

Meanwhile, there is a ton of fan-service, especially for longtime fans of the X-Men by Quick Silver's easygoing action scence, Wolverine appearing unexpectedly, and meaningful lines.

Not only the storyline and action scenes but also the fan-service scenes make this movie more enjoyable.

Being in 1983 background, the young X-Men talks about Star Wars: Return of the Jedi that the third films always stink. 'Apocalypse' is also the third one of the prequel series. So, I wonder how pressured the director was.

After 'X-Men: Apocalypse', the last prequel of three, the new X-Men history is the expectation of fans.
